This collection of Hunnewell papers comprises journals, correspondence related to his travels, publications, collecting, and activities with Oahu College. There are lists of copies of his publications sent to press, to individuals, to libraries, and historical societies; there are clippings of reviews of these books printed in newspapers and periodicals such as the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Charlestown Enterprise, The Critic, The Guardian, the Boston Evening Gazette, etc.; and there are acknowledgements from individuals and institutions who received copies. Also included in oversize folders are clippings relating to articles on Boston and Charlestown local history and clippings relating to meetings of institutions where Hunnewell presented papers (including the Bostonian Society, the American Antiquarian Society, the Society for Propagating the Gospel, and others).
